Our unique location
Our village was created 100 years ago by our great grandfather...
Our great grandfather was a nomad traveling around with his goats. He moved to a different location every day, untill he fell in love with the place that we now also call our home.
Starting from his camping tent he slowly built a big stone house to create a home for his children.
The whole story

The name Moknari came from Aknari, which means Cactus trees.
Our village used to be full of cactus.
So whenever our great grandfather returned from the market by public transport, after exchanging his goats for fruits and vegetables, he asked the driver to stop beside the Cactus.
In Amazigh language “IMI OKNARI”. The name developed over time and became Moknari, which is easier to pronounce.

Located between Taghazout and Imsouane, Desert Point Surf Camp is set in Moknari, a small and peaceful Berber village that belongs to our family.
It offers a rare opportunity to experience the authentic rhythms of Berber village life and heartfelt Moroccan hospitality.

This is more than a surf trip. Our all-inclusive Surf Package allows you to slow down, surf quality waves, and live the Berber way of life in a close-knit community.
From the moment you arrive in Morocco, everything is taken care of — allowing you to fully immerse yourself in surf, culture, adventure, and meaningful connections within the peaceful setting of our oceanfront village in Moknari.

Typical day at Desert Point Surf House
08:30 – Healthy breakfast
10:00 – We will drive you from the surf camp for a surf lesson/guiding to the best surf spots that meet your needs
14:00 – Return to the surf house for lunch
16:30 – We will drive you for sunset free surf to the best surf spots, or do one of the trips or activities
20:00 – Dinner
21:00 – Evening surf camp activities & vibes
