The village started 100 years ago with our grand grand father, who was a nomad traveling around with his goats, moves day to day to different places, till he felled in love with the place where he stayed longer and decided to stay for ever, starting from his tent camping ending with a big house made out of stones full of his children.
Moknari name came from : Aknari means Cactus trees, the place was full of cactus, so when ever he goes to market by public transports to exchange his goat for some fruits vegetables and all other essentials that he needs, he ask the driver to stop beside the Cactus, which mean in Amazigh language “IMI OKNARI”, the name developed became Moknari to makes it much easier to pronounce.
